Today I have started a new series on the youtube channel of Beatles walks around Liddypool!
To help you, you can download a free map from the link in the video too! I started at Mathew Street and the Cavern, with some things you may not realise were there!!
Although Aunt Mimi had control of the narrative of young John Lennon’s life, she rarely gave a filmed interview.
In this rare interview, filmed in 1981 after John had been murdered, she talks about her relationship with John and good memories.
Watch now!
To finish off this little series on the new Ringo mural, I returned this week with my friend Darren Brady to take a closer look.
Darren, an excellent cameraman also has a drone, so we decided to fly it across the Dingle and get close up to the mural.
He also flew it down Admiral Grove where Ringo grew up before heading back to Madryn Street where Ringo was born.
Enjoy the flight!
Following my post last week about the new Ringo Starr mural in the Dingle, here is the promised update.
The mural has been continued on the opposite side of the street.
Watch the latest video for the update.
A new mural has been unveiled on the side of the Empress Pub in the Dingle.
I went down with my camera to see it for myself and it is fantastic!
Have a look at this little film I made.
Ivan Vaughan didn’t only introduce Paul McCartney to John Lennon, but months earlier, he had introduced Len Garry to Lennon.
Len tells his story here:
On 6th July 1957, Paul McCartney was introduced to John Lennon after watching The Quarrymen perform at St. Peter’s Church in Woolton, Liverpool.
What really did happen? Having spoken to all of the surviving members of the Quarrymen, I could finally get as close to the truth as is possible.
Watch for the story of that incredible day.
On what would have been George’s birthday, join me as I take a little wander down Arnold Grove where George was born.
Celebrate with me with some great photos of a young George and his family.
Strawberry Fields Forever is one of John Lennon and the Beatles greatest songs in my opinion.
When Beatles fans visit Liverpool, they queue up to have their photos taken in front of the famous red gates and can now wander the grounds too.
But what was Strawberry Field to John? It wasn’t those gates!
Watch this video to find out the REAL Strawberry Fields Forever!
