It has been a couple of weeks since the end of International Beatleweek, but for me it lasts three weeks! I had 3 private Beatles tours in the week before it started, then a film premier for “Real Love”, the new film by Simon Weitzman about the history of International Beatleweek, for which I was interviewed. It is a great story and great film, so catch it if you can.
On the Friday lunchtime, it was an honour to be invited to the private memorial service for Pauline Sutcliffe, sister of Stuart, at St. Gabriel’s Church where Stuart was the head chorister. The church was gifted one of Stuart’s paintings of the Resurrection of Jesus by the Estate.
On the Friday evening, it was time for playing with The Quarrymen at St Peter’s Church Hall where John and Paul met. Great fun, and such a privilege to be playing there with the guys. Next year it will be 70 years since John and Paul met at the St. Peter’s Church Garden Fete. Hopefully there will be lots happening to celebrate that.
On the Sunday, it was time for the famous Beatles Convention at the Adelphi Hotel, where, with my friend and co-author Andrew Phillips, we gave a talk about our latest book, The Beatles: What If? Although we covered a few other What If moments, the main one was: “What If The Beatles Didn’t Break up?” This provoked a good discussion, with everyone getting into the “What If” mindset! We sold a lot of books that day!

On Monday, it was an all day Beatles tour with my friend Ricardo and his group from Mexico, which was great fun, and then on the Tuesday it was the turn of my friend Charles Rosenay and his group from the US. Again, a fantastic day!
After that, plenty of private Beatles tours too!
On Sunday 6th September, I had the pleasure of seeing Billy J Kramer in concert at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. He was on great form and it was nice to catch up with him too.
And now, I am getting to work on my next book project, which is very exciting indeed! More to follow on that as it develops.
